URBAN PROPOSAL FOR THE CITY- PORT INTERFACE

The Barcelona City-Port interface is under continue transformation. The limit between the urban port and the industrial logistic area is under movement and is being continually displaced south, opposite to urban positions, in search for areas where to minimize conflict between urban and port activities. At the same time, physically constrained the city of Barcelona is in search for space to provide houses to new comers.
This proposal link port and urban interest through the creation of a continue slab that facilities logistic activities under while permits urban activities above, provide space to enlarge today’s straitjacketed transport infrastructures and solve the link between the city and the bigger park in town, Montjuïc.

Punta Hidalgo
Punta Hidalgo

Punta del Hidalgo, located in the North of Tenerife, is a popular tourist destination with a proposal for urban regeneration of its coastal sidewalk. The area, with views of the Macizo de Anaga natural reserve, is under redevelopment to redefine its structure, which was originally developed in the 70s but lacks proper integration and connection. The focus of the proposal is on preserving the natural and touristic values of the area, including coastal natural pools and tide pools. The existing linear sidewalk along the coast is practical but lacks aesthetic appeal and opportunities for enjoyment of the sea. LoCa's proposal aims to renaturalize the coast by increasing green spaces, creating shade with trees and pergolas, and enhancing access to the sea for swimming. The strategy also includes improving pedestrian mobility for universal accessibility and integrating new swimming areas into the sidewalk. The construction strategy for the project involves using locally available materials such as concrete and timber, known for their durability against the harsh erosion conditions of the Atlantic Ocean coast.
