BARCELONA: SMART SALTY SPICY

URBAN PROPOSAL FOR THE CITY- PORT INTERFACE

The Barcelona City-Port interface is under continuous transformation. The limit between the urban port and industrial logistic area is being continually displaced south, in search of an area which minimizes the conflict between urban and port activities. At the same time, the city of Barcelona is physically constrained, in search of space to provide houses to newcomers.

This proposal connects the port and urban interests through the creation of a continuous slab that facilitates logistic activities while allowing for urban activities, providing space to expand today’s constricted transport infrastructures and improve the connection between the city and the largest urban park: Montjuïc.
